How to overcome overwhelm so you can live the life you desire | 10 tips

We've all been there. That moment when you can feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. When it feels like you can't take another step, that's overwhelm. And it's something that almost all female entrepreneurs and professionals experience at some point. But don't worry, there are ways to overcome it!

Hi, my name is Felecia Etienne, and I am a Certified High-Performance Success Coach and Business and Life Strategist for ambitious female entrepreneurs and professionals. I equip overwhelmed, stressed-out bosses to maximize their time, energy, and productivity so they can be present and intentional with the vital aspects of their life.

This blog will discuss some of the best tips for managing to overwhelm and getting back to your badass self.

It's essential to understand what overwhelm is and what causes it. Overwhelm typically occurs when we feel like there is too much to do and not enough time to do it. This can be due to several factors, such as a busy work schedule, family obligations, or balancing multiple roles (e.g., mom, entrepreneur, etc.). And when we're constantly juggling a million things, it's no wonder we feel overwhelmed!

So how can we manage this feeling and get back to our productive selves?

Here are ten tips to help you overcome overwhelm and live your limitless life:

1. Prioritize:

When you feel overwhelmed, it's important to take a step back and figure out what's the most important. Ask yourself what one or two things need to be done for you to feel better. Once you know what those are, focus all of your energy on completing them.

2. Delegate:

Another way to manage overwhelm is to delegate tasks to other people. These can be family members, friends, or even virtual assistants. The key is to find someone you can trust to do a good job and then let them take care of it!

3. Take a Break:

If all else fails, sometimes the best thing to do is take a break. This could mean taking a walk outside, reading a book, or just taking some time for yourself. When you're feeling overwhelmed, it's essential to give yourself a break so you can recharge and come back stronger.

4. Set Boundaries:

One of the best ways to manage overwhelm is to set boundaries. This means saying no to things you don't have time for and sticking to your priorities. It can be challenging, but it's worth it in the end!

5. Eliminate distractions:

It's important to eliminate distractions and focus on the task at hand. This means turning off your phone, computer, or any other device that might be pulling your attention away from what you're doing.

6. Create a To-Do List:

When we have a lot to do, it can be helpful to create a to-do list. This way, we can see all of the tasks that need to be completed and then work on them one at a time.

7. Take Baby Steps:

Sometimes the best way to manage overwhelm is to take baby steps. This means completing a task a little at a time until it's done. This can be helpful when there are many things to do, and we don't have a lot of time.

8. Set Timers:

Another way to manage overwhelm is to set timers. This means working on a task for a certain amount of time and then taking a break. When the timer goes off, take a few minutes to relax and then get back to work.

9. Create a Routine:

One way to manage overwhelm is to create a routine. This could mean setting specific times for work and play, eating at the same time each day, or even going to bed and waking up at the same time each morning. When we have a routine, it's easier to manage our time and not feel so overwhelmed.

10. Take Care of Yourself:

Last but not least, one of the best things we can do to manage overwhelm is to take care of ourselves. This means getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and exercising. We're less likely to feel overwhelmed when we're taking care of ourselves.

In Conclusion:

Overwhelm can be tough to deal with, but it's important to remember that we're not alone. There are a lot of people who feel the same way!
