It's natural to feel discouraged, but remember: hitting RESET doesn't mean that you're giving up. Instead, it's an opportunity to recommit to yourself and your dreams and take action toward achieving them.
If we haven't met, hi, my name is Felecia! I'm a Certified High-Performance Success Coach and Business & Life Strategist! I love to help overwhelmed, stressed-out ambitious, high-achieving women maximize their time, energy, productivity, and influence so they can be present and intentional with the vital aspects of their life. I do this through proven science-backed and outcome-based high-performance strategies, routines, habits, and mindset shifts that are simple, sustainable, and fun.
In this blog post, I'll be sharing the 7 simple steps to hitting RESET - reflecting, simplifying, planning, building momentum, and seeking accountability. Following these core steps will help you gain clarity on what you truly want in life, develop a plan of action, and build the momentum you need to achieve your goals. Imagine waking up each day with a renewed sense of purpose, energy, and focus - it's possible, and it all starts with taking action today. So, let's dive in and explore how you can revamp your life and unlock your true potential.
Let's dive deep into this empowering framework together and make the rest of this year one filled with growth, progress, and fulfillment. Are you ready to hit RESET and start anew? Let's go!
Step 1: Reflect on the Past Six Months
Pause and take a deep breath. It's time to reflect on the past six months. This is your moment to learn from both successes and setbacks, glean valuable insights, and chart your course forward with newfound wisdom. Grab a journal and pour your thoughts onto the pages. Start by recalling the goals you set for yourself and the initial excitement you felt. Then, honestly assess your progress and identify what worked and what didn't.
But hey, it's not all about dwelling on the negatives. Celebrate your wins, no matter how small. High-five yourself for the goals you've accomplished. And don't forget to identify those pesky obstacles that tripped you up along the way. By recognizing patterns and challenges, you'll be better prepared to overcome them in the future.
Here are some of my favorite reflection questions:
1. What goals did I achieve, and how did they contribute to my overall well-being and success?
2. What obstacles did I encounter, and how did I handle them? Were there any patterns or recurring challenges?
3. Did I consistently prioritize my goals and allocate enough time and resources to pursue them?
4. How did I feel when working towards my goals? Did I experience joy, fulfillment, or stress and burnout?
5. Are my goals still aligned with my values and long-term vision for my life?
Step 2: Re-prioritize and Simplify Your Goals
After reflecting on your past six months, it's time to re-prioritize and simplify your goals. Here's the deal: setting too many goals can hinder your progress. So, be selective and focus on the ones that truly align with your values and have a significant impact on your life. Think quality over quantity, my ambitious friend.
Conduct a goal audit and assess the importance and alignment of each goal. Prioritize based on impact and urgency. Ask yourself which goals will bring the most value and align with your top priorities. Remember, it's all about finding that balance between ambition and feasibility. Choose a few key goals that you can wholeheartedly dedicate your time and resources to.
But don't stop there! Break down your goals into actionable steps. This will make them less overwhelming and provide you with a clear roadmap to success. Assign deadlines to each step to maintain momentum and track your progress effectively. And hey, while you're at it, eliminate distractions and non-essential tasks that don't contribute to your high-priority goals. Free up that precious time and mental space!
Consider the following strategies:
1. The ONE Thing:
Identify the goal that can have the greatest positive impact on your life— the ONE achievement that makes everything else easier or unnecessary. Prioritize this goal above others to channel your energy and efforts effectively.
2. The Eisenhower Matrix:
Use the Eisenhower Matrix, a decision-making tool, to categorize your goals into four quadrants: important and urgent, not urgent but important, urgent but not important, and not urgent or important. Focus on the important and urgent goals, delegate or eliminate the not-important and urgent tasks, and set aside time for the important but not urgent goals.
3. Value-Based Goal Setting:
Align your audacious goals with your values and long-term vision. Consider what matters to you and what brings you a sense of purpose and fulfillment. This alignment creates intrinsic motivation, making it easier to stay committed to your goals.
Step 3: Establish a Plan
Alright, let's get down to business and establish a plan. Setting specific goals and developing detailed plans significantly increases your chances of success. Trust me on this one.
Define specific and measurable objectives for each of your simplified goals. Make sure they're clear, well-defined, and quantifiable. Break your goals into smaller, actionable steps that are manageable and can be executed effectively. And don't forget to prioritize these tasks based on importance and urgency. You've got to focus on what matters most.
Allocate the necessary resources—time, finances, skills—to accomplish your objectives. And to keep yourself organized and on track, consider creating a visual representation of your plan. A timeline or a project management tool can work wonders in helping you visualize your goals, objectives, and tasks.
Follow these simple strategies to create an effective plan:
1. SMART Goals:
Make your goals Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Instead of a vague goal like "exercise regularly," make it specific, such as "exercise for 30 minutes, four times a week." Ensure each goal is measurable, so you can track your progress and celebrate milestones along the way.
2. Break it Down:
Break your goals into smaller, actionable steps or milestones. This approach increases clarity and prevents overwhelm. Each milestone should be specific, time-bound, and contribute to the overall achievement of your goal.
3. Time Blocking:
Allocate dedicated time slots in your schedule for working towards your goals. Research has shown that time blocking improves focus and productivity. By setting aside specific times for goal-related tasks, you prioritize them and ensure they receive your full attention.

Step 4: Build Momentum with Small Wins
Building momentum with small wins is a powerful strategy to keep your motivation high and maintain progress toward your goals. When you break down your goals into smaller, manageable tasks, you create opportunities for regular victories that propel you forward.
Focus on completing these smaller tasks one by one. Each time you accomplish a task, celebrate the achievement and acknowledge your progress. This positive reinforcement will fuel your motivation and create a sense of momentum that carries you toward bigger victories.
Additionally, consider implementing a tracking system to monitor your progress. Whether it's a simple checklist, a habit tracker, or a digital tool, having a visual representation of your accomplishments can boost your confidence and provide a tangible reminder of how far you've come.
Apply the following strategies to build momentum:
1. Kaizen:
Embrace the concept of Kaizen, which focuses on continuous improvement through small, incremental steps. Start with easily achievable tasks that move you closer to your goal. Celebrate each small win, no matter how minor, as this reinforces positive habits and boosts motivation.
2. Progress Tracking:
Regularly track and review your progress. Use a goal-tracking system or a habit tracker to visualize your achievements. Seeing the progress you've made can inspire and motivate you to keep going.
3. Visualization and Affirmations:
Visualize yourself crushing your goals and experiencing positive outcomes. Use affirmations to reinforce your belief in your abilities. Research has shown that visualization and positive self-talk can enhance performance and motivation.
Step 5: Stay Accountable and Seek Support
Accountability is crucial when it comes to achieving ambitious goals. Find ways to hold yourself accountable throughout your journey. One effective method is sharing your goals with others, such as a coach, friends, family, or mentors. When you vocalize your aspirations, you create a sense of responsibility to follow through.
You can also form an accountability partnership or join a mastermind group with like-minded individuals who share similar ambitions. Regular check-ins, progress updates, and shared experiences can provide valuable support and encouragement. Collaborating with others can also open doors to new perspectives, insights, and opportunities.
Utilize the following strategies to gain accountability and support:
1. Accountability Partners:
Find a trusted friend, family member, or colleague who can be your accountability partner. Share your goals with them, and schedule regular check-ins to discuss your progress. Knowing that someone is holding you accountable can provide the necessary motivation and support to stay on track.
2. Coaches or Mentors:
Consider working with a professional coach or mentor who specializes in goal achievement. They can provide guidance, support, and valuable insights to help you navigate challenges and stay focused.
3. Community and Support Groups:
Join a mastermind group or an online community of diverse and like-minded individuals who are also working towards their goals. Engaging with such a community provides a supportive network, motivation, inspiration, and opportunities for collaboration and feedback.

Step 6: Embrace Adaptability and Learn from Setbacks
In the pursuit of ambitious goals, setbacks, and obstacles are inevitable. However, it's essential to view these challenges as opportunities for growth rather than roadblocks. Embrace adaptability and learn from setbacks.
When faced with a setback, take the time to analyze what went wrong and identify potential solutions. Adjust your approach, pivot if necessary, and keep moving forward. Never forget failure is not a reflection of your worth or potential—it's an integral part of the journey toward success.
Stay open to learning from your experiences and be willing to make intentional adjustments along the way. Flexibility and resilience are key traits that will help you navigate obstacles and keep your ambitious spirit alive.

Step 7: Cultivate Self-Care and Well-Being
Finally, while pursuing audacious goals, it's imperative to place self-care and well-being first. Nurturing your physical, mental, and emotional state is crucial to preserving the vitality and concentration that's required to attain those goals.
Establish healthy routines that support your well-being, such as regular exercise, proper nutrition, quality sleep, and mindfulness practices. Make time for activities that recharge and rejuvenate you, whether spending time in nature, pursuing hobbies, or connecting with loved ones.
Remember, success is not just about reaching the destination—it's about enjoying the journey and living a balanced and fulfilling life along the way.
Here's the bottom line:
